Iron

 The adult body contains 4.2 ~ 6.1 g of iron, which is conjugated with porphyrin and proteins in the blood to form hemoglobin and myoglobin. In iron deficiency there will be decrease of hemoglobin with anemia, fatigue, and diarrhea. The function of oxygen transport is affected. Iron deficiency will also cause decrease of certain enzymes within the muscle. Increased iron will cause vomiting and gastrointestinal bleeding.

Iodine

  Participate in the synthesis of thyroxin. Decreased thyroxin secretion will cause simple goiter.

Fluorine

  The incidence of dental caries increases when the fluorine is low in the environment. Ingestion of appropriate amount can prevent dental caries. It is beneficial to development of children and can prevent osteoporosis in the old.
